This fall has seen lots of discipleship related activity in UCC.
The Bible Doctrine Class, which ran in September and October, was well attended. Participants enjoyed the systematic overview of the main doctrines of the Bible based on Wayne Grudem’s standard work: Bible Doctrine.
A new course, the Life Skills Course, was just launched on November 10th. This practical series covers topics such as: Healthy Diet, Time Management, Technology Management, Relationships, Personal Finances and Spirituality. There is enough room for more to join any particular session of interest.
The Marriage Refreshment has been on one Saturday every month with good teaching, exercises and fellowship around the lunch table. The Love and Respect video series has been very well received by most couples. It has met a real need in many a UCC marriage.
The Marriage Preparation Course is giving 14 engaged and newly wed couples an opportunity to build strong foundations for their married lives. They meet every Wednesday evening for five consecutive weeks to learn together about communication, commitment, resolving conflict, keeping love alive, and shared goals and values.
All in all UCC has provided a variety of discipleship avenues for its members this fall, not only though courses but also through the small groups and many unofficial gatherings of its members. May the Lord continue to bless UCC in training rock solid disciples of Jesus!
