”Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!”
- Psalm 100:4
Today we will pray for corporate worship at UCC. Bob Kauflin writes “Worship is about what we love. What we live for. It's about who we are before God.” This is the essence of Paul’s prayer for the church in Ephesians 3:14-19; which we will use to pray for UCC today.
Begin by reading the text through three times. Next go slowly through the verses making each verse your to God prayer for UCC with references to the following people:
Members and regular attendees
Children & Youth
The leaders of UCC
“14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being,17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”
Today’s sermon text is John 10:1-21. Read through the text to be familiar with it. Next Pray for the preacher today that he would handle the Word rightly, and that God would prepare our congregations in Leppävaara, Otaniemi, and Helsinki to hear and receive His Word.
Finally, pray that we would all see Jesus as our Good Shepherd and worship Him:
“11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 12 He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. 13 He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.” - John 10:11-15
